' The Plumb Line'From the Grand Master June 21st there will be a One Day to Masonry Class in Minneapolis and on June 28 there will be another One Day to Masonry Class in Duluth. The cost will be $150. This will include all three degrees, a women's program, lunch, handouts, and an evening banquet. _______ A new resolution was passed on April 5th that allows the investigation committee process, on a new candidate, to be waved by a majority vote of the Lodge. _______ WB John Loutzenhiser has accepted an important position for the future success of Minnesota Masonry. He will head up a commission on new membership concepts. This commission will explore and discuss new ideas used by the craft and other organizations that enhance membership development. They will then survey the Masons of Minnesota and make recommendations to the Grand Lodge at the June 28th Corporate Board meeting. With approval of the Board we will put some or all of those programs into action. A review and evaluation of these concepts will be submitted at the January 17th 2004 Board meeting and resolutions for those concepts that contain a positive track record will be prepared for next years Grand Lodge Session _____ Many of you were at the March 15th planning session of the GL. Your information will be given to the appropriate committee head and Grand Master. ________ Mile Stones *Last year Rochester #21 in Rochester raised 18, Constellation # 81 In Alexandria raised 13, Star I the East #33 in Owatonna raised 12. * WB Jay Hoeft from Shell Lodge in Park Rapids passed away on March 23rd. He was a good man and a great Mason. *On March 22nd GL officers dedicated a new Lodge hall in Roseau. The brothers of Roseau # 268 gave a grand celebration. *On April 6th GL officers laid a cornerstone at the new library in St. James. ________ W. Brother Dale Yoakum called to the Celestial Lodge Above on Saturday, April 12th. Many of the Brothers from across the state know Dale Yoakum, long-time District Representative for District 12 in the Willmar area and also the Past Area Deputy for the Southwest Area of the state. Dale was a dual member of Orion Lodge No. 138 in Atwater and also Sharon Lodge No. 104 in Willmar; he was a Past Master of both lodges. The two lodges will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service for Dale on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home (700 Becker Avenue SW in Willmar, phone 320-235-1651), where there will also be visitation from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday. The actual funeral will be on Friday, April 18th at 3:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Willmar. The church is located at 1818 9th Street SW and their phone number is 320-235-5403. Dale served Minnesota Masonry for many years through his association with the District Representatives of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota, through his work with other Masonic bodies and also by simply being a good Brother.
