Brethren, the roll of the workmen has been called and one Master Mason has
not responded. Past Grand Master Edward W. Waldon has laid down his working
tools after being called from his earthly labor to his eternal reward. M. W.
Brother Ed's obituary is duplicated below, but I would like to highlight the
Masonic Memorial service information:
The Masonic Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday,
November 29th at the Dingmann Family Funeral Home, 324 South 2nd Avenue,
Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. (funeral home phone number 320-251-1454) Funeral
home directions- U.S. Highway 10 to the Benton Drive exit in Sauk Rapids,
Benton Drive to the five-way stop signs, which will include 2nd Avenue and
the funeral home is right there.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday morning, at 10:30 a.m. (with
visitation for one hour prior) at the Atonement Lutheran Church, 1144 North
29th Avenue, Saint Cloud, Minnesota.
Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning, at the Minnesota State
Veteran's Cemetery at Camp Ripley.

MAJOR GENERAL EDWARD W. WALDON, 77
SAUK RAPIDS
DECEMBER 9, 1925 - NOVEMBER 24, 2003
Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Atonement Lutheran
Church in St. Cloud for Major General Edward W. Waldon, age 77, of 300 5th
Avenue North, who died Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Gerald
Staehling will officiate and burial will be at Minnesota State Veteran's
Cemetery at Camp Ripley.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in
Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church in St.
Cloud. There will be a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home in Sauk Rapids.
Major General Edward Waldon was born Dec. 9, 1925 in Guthrie, Minnesota to
Arthur J. Waldon, Sr. & Amelia "Babe" Warther. He married Doris M. Brahmer
on Feb. 29, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Doris died on
March 7, 1997, He married Cindy Carlson on Oct. 10, 1998 at Atonement
Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Edward lived in St. Cloud for many years and
moved to Sauk Rapids in 1992. He was Commanding General for the 42nd
Infantry Division of the Amy National Guard, retiring Jan. 11, 1986. Edward
also sold insurance for BMA Insurance. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran
Church, Masonic Lodge-Minneapolis Valley of Scottish Right 33° Degree,
Northstar Lodge No. 23, Sharon Lodge No. 104 in Willmar, Sauk Rapids
American Legion Post 254, Sauk Rapids VFW Post 6992, and Sauk Rapids Lions.
He was Grand Master of Minnesota Masons in 1992-993.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Sauk Rapids; daughters, Gail (Mark)
Eidenschink of Detroit Lakes, Nancy Johnson of St. Cloud, Pat Kropp (John
Hall) of St. Cloud; stepdaughter, Tiffany Carlson of Milaca; brother and
sister, Arthur J.Waldon, Jr. of St. Paul and Alice Waldon of Detroit Lakes,
seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris; and great
granddaughter, Destiny Eustad.
