Minnesota River Valley Lodge #6

"Issued with the Permission of the M.W. Grand Lodge of Minnesota"

'The Plumb Line'

From the Grand Master

December 2003

Pilot Lodges are being sought to explore a concept that will be
discussed at the upcoming Grand Lodge Session in March. It has been
determined that many Minnesota Masons feel that there should be an
alternative educational program that could replace the memory requirement
for our candidates. Masters of Lodges would decide to use this program or to
stay with the memory requirement.

Our GL Education Officer has designed such a program. It requires
serious commitment on the part of the officers of those Lodges who choose to
use it. If your Lodge would like to apply to be one of these Pilot Lodges
please contact Grand Master Neddermeyer at
Neddermeyer@Comcast.net for
requirements, approval, and orientation.

you to everyone who has responded. Time slots are filling up fast, so please
act quickly. We would love to see as many lodges participate as possible. We
are only allowing you to book time in 4 hour shifts. Please govern
yourselves accordingly. The deadline for your lodge to sign up is at the end

2004 One-Day-to-Masonry

The Grand Master announces the 2004 One-Day-to-Masonry event to be held at
the Scottish Rite Temple in Minneapolis on January 17th 2004. This all day
affair includes a Women's Program for the wives or guests of fellow Masons
as well as those of the new candidates. As in past One-Day-to-Masonry
events, this one will again be capped with a gala dinner and much
fellowship.
All three degrees will be portrayed as well as an interesting
education program for all. The total cost for the day (but not including the
2004 lodge dues) for each candidate will be $150.00. This fee includes all
meals for the candidate, as well as the tour and meals for guests. Present
Masons are encouraged to attend. For current Masons the day fee, including
lunch will be $10.00. The fee for the dinner will be $25.00. An existing
Mason can bring his wife or lady for no additional fee. Reservations are
required for the women's tour and all meal events, and can be made by
phoning the Grand Lodge office at 651-222-6051 or 800-245-6050.
First line signers are asked to have the candidate complete a regular
petition for the degrees, or the one provided on the web page. This
petition must be sent to the local Lodge along with the required fee and a
request to attend this One-Day-to-Masonry Class. The Grand Master will
allow the first reading of this petition to be waived with consent of the
Lodge. But still, time is drawing short so do not delay, assist your
candidate in completing his petition today.
