Minnesota River Valley Lodge #6

"Issued with the Permission of the M.W. Grand Lodge of Minnesota"

'The Plumb Line'

From the Grand Master

January 2004

The  Masonic bodies located at the Paul Revere Masonic Center recently
volunteered to assist the families of military personnel deployed overseas
by offering to provide needed services on an as-needed basis through The
"First Lady's Military Care Initiative" which has the following web page:

http://www.governor.state.mn.us/flmain1.asp

A few weeks after registering the Paul Revere Masonic Center with the web
site, we received a call from the National Guard asking if we would be
willing to remove snow from the driveway of a guardsman who is deployed to
Iraq. The guardsman's wife had been sick and it was too cold for her to take
her 2 year old out long enough to shovel her 50 yard long driveway. One of
our members packed up a snow blower, went to her house in Plymouth and
removed the snow from her driveway, car and walkways in less then an hour.
This solders wife was very very appreciative and wanted to know more about
our fraternity. Who knows, maybe we will hear from her husband when, God
willing, he returns safely from Iraq. These services are needed throughout
the state and it would be great to see a lot of Lodges volunteer to support
these families.
