Minnesota River Valley Lodge #6

"Issued with the Permission of the M.W. Grand Lodge of Minnesota"

'The Plumb Line'
From the Grand Master
June 2004

Good Morning Brothers,

Here is another (probably belated) issue of the Grand Master's Plumbline.

* Please remember that articles for inclusion in the Minnesota Mason should
be forwarded to Bobbi Lampi as soon as possible. The next issue is due to be
mailed on July 15- which means all articles should be in to Bobbi by the end
of June.  Help her out by not delaying publication by missing deadlines.
Material submitted to the Grand Lodge office by any means (regular mail,
e-mail, dropped off, etc.) will be forwarded on to Bobbi Lampi.

* We have three cornerstone ceremonies coming up- June 26, 10:00 a.m. at the
new Childhood Language Disorders Clinic in Elk River - July 31, 10:00 a.m.
at the new Community Hospital in St. Peter - and again at the rededication
and 100th anniversary of the Lake Avenue Temple in Duluth, tentatively set
for September 18. All are invited to these events. Grand Lodge Officers,
please mark the dates and begin working on your part in the ceremony.

* It is Minnesota¹s turn to preside at the annual meeting of the Peace
Garden Lodge on the border between North Dakota and Manitoba. All are
invited to attend who wish to see a beautiful park with magnificent gardens
and attend a unique ceremony. Contact the Grand Lodge office for details of
this August 7 event.

* Remember to support the Fall Breakfast Festivals by reminding the brethren
during your lodge visits. We will want a maximum attendance at these events.

* We are contacting the developers of the ³Grand Lodge Minnesota² water park
in Bloomington to advise them that they are using a name which we have used
for over 150 years and protected with the Secretary of State of Minnesota.
Further details as this story develops. Hopefully they can be convinced to
select some other name for their water park.

* There is a lot of interest in the new daylight lodge being formed in the
west metro area. Another organizational meeting is planned for July 16 at
10:00 a.m. At the Paul Revere Masonic Center in Saint Louis Park and then we
are hoping to have a dispensation issued and an initial meeting early this
fall. Many thanks to W. B. Lloyd  Anderson for his work on this new lodge.
You can contact Lloyd at 612-781-2517 for additional information on this new
lodge.

* Brother Bruce Sherman is doing an bang up job in revitalizing the
Education Lodge #1002. All of the research papers submitted to date are now
available on the web site and further development is planned. A dinner and
planning meeting are scheduled for July 15, 6:00 p.m. At the Saint Paul
Masonic Center on Plato Boulevard. (dinner reservations, $5.00, to the Grand
Lodge office, 6541-222-6051) We  also hope to have the first meeting in
several years planned and going by this fall. This is an  exciting
development that has been picked up by Nelson King of the  Philalethes and
is supported by many brethren here in Minnesota.

Enough for now- best wishes for a great summer and I hope to see you
somewhere in Masonry soon.

Rhoads
