Minnesota River Valley Lodge #6

"Issued with the Permission of the M.W. Grand Lodge of Minnesota"

Plumb Line from the Grand Master
June 2005

Hello Brother,

My wife Chris and I hope that you had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. As many of our Lodges go dark for the summer, perhaps it is now time to encourage our non-Masonic friends to consider membership in our great organization. September is the best time for turning in petitions as many of our Lodges begin degree work in the fall. Also please keep in mind our next One-Day-to-Masonry event scheduled for January 21st.

I could use a little feed-back concerning regional One-Day-to-Masonry Classes. We are toying with the idea of continuing a "one-day" in January in the metro area and having two regional one days in the Northern and Southern parts of the state. These would take place in the spring and fall. If you have strong feelings please drop me a note at the Grand Lodge. Standards for these additional "one-day events" would remain high and the follow-up with these new Masons would be essential.

Our new Director of Fraternal Operations, Neil Neddermeyer, has visited 15 Lodges since our Grand Lodge Session in April and has 95 to go before the next one. He has
also been involved with a number of planning sessions and meetings. We all wish him the best as he endeavors to assist Lodges in the enhancement of the Masonic experience in Minnesota. Plans are underway for regional Masonic Leader get-togethers around the state. You will be hearing a lot more about this within the next few weeks. Please plan to attend and give us your input concerning the future pathways for our Fraternity.
Here are those dates:

July 23rd- Worthington Area

August 20th- Bemidji Area

September 24th- Rochester Area

October 22nd- Duluth Area

November 19th- Metro Area

January 14th- Willmar Area

Plans are also underway for a District Representative and Area Deputy Grand Master retreat on December 10th.

Have a great summer and remember that:
YOU ARE SOMEONE'S IMPRESSION OF MASONRY

Fraternally,
Andy Rice, Grand Master

PS. A number of our brothers and their wives are accompanying Chris and me on a
10 day Masonic trip to England and Scotland this coming Sunday. I'll let
you know how it went and what we learned in the next Plumb-Line.
