Minnesota River Valley Lodge #6

"Issued with the Permission of the M.W. Grand Lodge of Minnesota"

Hello My Brothers,

Minnesota Masonic Charities will make a matching gift of 50%, that is a $1 for $2 match, for donations received for hurricane relief. All gifts for relief, large and small, from yourself and your friends and family will be matched if you make the contribution to Minnesota Masonic Charities. We ask that donations be sent to the Grand Lodge, to the attention of:

Grand Secretary Douglas Campbell

200 East Plato Blvd

St. Paul , MN 55107-1618

The beneficiary of the aid will be decided after it has become clear what the needs are and which agency or agencies is achieving the best results for its money and effort. Presently it would seem that two most likely organizations to receive funds would be the Salvation Army and the Red Cross.

The Grand Lodge Corporate Board has made a contribution of $20,000 from the Colonel Ladd Memorial Fund to The Masonic Service Association of North America to help Masons and Masonic Lodges suffering from the recent hurricane destruction. Additionally it  voted to send $5000 to the Prince Hall Conference of Grand Lodges to assist them with their relief effort.

The Masonic Cancer Center Fund's Partners for life Campaign continues to gain momentum thanks in large part to the interest shown by our lodges. This fall, over 36 Lodges have arranged presentations. I encourage everyone to consider this important campaign. Special thanks to Chuck Dietz, Roger Ledding and Joyce McCurdy for their outstanding leadership. To schedule a presentation or to answer any questions, call John Schwietz at 651-210-5240 or email schwietzcpa@comcast.net.

The Minnesota Masonic Foundation has once again voted to pay the Masonic dues for any Brother who is on active duty in the Military as of January 1st 2006. Secretaries should contact the Grand Lodge Office with those names.

I am happy to report that the third of six area conferences for Masonic leaders was held in Rochester on September 24th. There were 75 Brothers in attendance. This was a great turnout and all who participated were pleased and inspired.

The next Area Conference will be held  at our Duluth Masonic Center on October 22nd from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm for our leaders from the Northeast Area. All are welcome to attend.
